I just wanted to say how much I LOVE this song. The whole album is great, but I keep coming back to this one. Maybe it’s the time of year and thinking about the arrival of our Deliverer and what he had to suffer to deliver us … it’s really been speaking to me. Hi Bernadette,

Actually, that’s a great question. I’ve always been inspired by worship leaders like Matt Redman and Brenton Brown. A lot of their unique live sound comes from the way they handle the acoustic guitar. The strum pattern that I use for “Our Deliverer” is very similar to the one Brenton uses on many of his songs such as “Holy”, “Hosanna”, and “Our God Saves”. Even though it’s just a simple up-down-up-down continuous rolling pattern, it really fills up a lot of space which is good for solo acoustic guitar in the context of worship leading. Just keep a loose wrist and light grip on the pick, and it’ll sound all floaty and smooth. Just how I like my Jamba Juice.

Man, your worship music is so powerful. I love the lyrics you write and the music you create along with those lyrics. That you take time out of your day to teach us fellow musicians and worship leaders how to pass on your music I am thankful for! It means a lot! Keep up your amazing talent.
