Hear “Our Deliverer” and “He’s Alive” on Myspace
I love fall. I especially love November. The mornings are crispy cool. The leaves do that really cool color change thing everywhere else but Southern Cali. My wife and I celebrate our anniversary in November. Our middle son Jadon was born in November. We eat things like oyster casserole atop cranberry studded turkey and green beans amongst kindly kin while expressing our deepest gratitude to our Savior for all He has done for us. Not to mention Christmas is closer. As if these weren’t enough reasons to love November… there is a great big new reason. November 24th, that’s two days before Thanksgiving, my new CD “Above the Sky” will be available for purchase. My Producer Pete Kipley and I have been working on these 12 songs for over a year now. So you can imagine how ridiculously awesome it feels for me to make this announcement to you!
Soooo, to celebrate the upcoming release, I’ve put TWO of my new songs up on my myspace for your sneak previewing pleasure – “Our Deliverer” and “He’s Alive.” I would absolutely love for you to check them out! ”Our Deliverer” is a simple song of praise that exalts the Rescuer of humanity. ”He’s Alive” is a slight adaptation of the old hymn “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” by Samuel Medley and John Hatton hundreds of years ago. I took two stanzas from Samuel Medley’s timeless work and made them the verses of “He’s Alive”, then I wrote a brand new chorus that puts a big exclamation point on the main theme – we love and serve a Living God. Lift your eyes today everyone… Jesus is alive!
Talk to you soon,
- Evan

Evan, the site looks GOOD! I’m sitting here in Jerusalem and feeling not so far away from you and Sandy and the kids because of it. We can hardly wait to wrap our hands (and ears) around the new CD!
Hooray November!!

Hey bro awesome job! stumbled on your site. What did you use for the loops and effects? Praise God peace!

Hey John,
Thanks so much. If you’re referring to the looping stuff on the “Everywhere” video, I used an RC-50. I love that it allows for three separate looping phrases.
Merry Christmas,
Evan

Evan,
I love the song, Our Deliverer.
The song is easy enough chord wise.
But for the life of me I can not get you strum.
I want to use the song in our worship.
I bought the CD thinking I could get the strum of the cd but it hasn’t worked for me.
I’ve even watched your instructional video.
So question, would you send me a video showing the strum that you are doing?
If not that is ok I’ll keep working on it from the instructional video you made.

Hey Evan,
I am 13 years old and I loooooovvve your music, it always speaks to me. I am on the worship team for my church and wanted to thank you. My two all time favorites of yours are Our Deliverer and Now Unto the One, but I am a little confused, what is the strumming pattern to Our Deliverer?
Thanks,
Madison
