November 18th, 2009

Hey everyone!  See the video?  The time has come.  You can now buy my brand new album “Above the Sky” in the new “STORE” section of my website.  You can choose to have the physical CD shipped to you for $12.99, or you can choose the “download only” version for $9.99.  In either case, you will receive the new CD next Tuesday, November 24th!

But here’s the kicker: when you purchase “Above the Sky”in either format, you will immediately receive FOUR FREE SONGS that are ONLY available through my store at www.evanwickham.com!!  The FOUR FREE SONGS include acoustic versions of “Heavenlies” and “He’s Alive” -- which can be found on “Above the Sky” in their full glory.  I also did an up-close and personal version of the old hymn “Be Still My Soul.”  What a gorgeous and rich song!  Always wanted to.  Had to do it.  Finally, I decided to release a love song that I wrote for my wife Sandy.  It’s called “You Are Mine.”  It’s a live-in-studio recording that I did with my producer Pete Kipley on bass and my friend Brandon Lozano on drums at Big Fish studios here in San Diego.  It turned out pretty cool I think.  Can’t wait for you to hear it!

So that’s the deal guys.  Buy the 12 song record, get the 4 songs free.  Just be sure to click the “My Account” link after you buy.  You’ll see the “Evan Wickham Download Extras” in there.  Yee haaaawww!

    Hi Evan,

Well, I’ve been really enjoying your Mysterious Things album for over a year now. It’s been a genuine blessing to my life, thank you. Since I got that album, I’ve been on the lookout for a new album from you, so I’m thrilled to pre-order your album and support your efforts in the kingdom of our God.

Stay true to the voice of the Lord, whatever man may say! I pray the grace of God to continue and grow in your life – God’s influence on your heart and your obedience to it!

    Love in Christ,

    Hey Evan,

I attend Solid Rock and bought your new album because of hearing you sing an acoustic version of “Speak to Me” at church a while back. The new album is GREAT — mostly because I can tell it was written and recorded with a heart of worship and your eyes on God. My favorite tracks are actually some of the bonus ones because the honest acoustic sound is just basically my favorite sound. I’m so glad you included those — especially the version of “Be Still My Soul.” Thanks for the awesome worship music! May God richly bless you and your family.

For those that purchased my album on iTunes and are now asking about the free extra songs, I’m sorry to say that they are part of an exclusive offer available only via the evanwickham.com store. I would like to release a full acoustic record sometime soon that will include a lot of that material. God bless you guys! Thanks so much for the comments and questions!

    Dear Evan,
So, i saw Phil perform 2 yrs. ago in NYC and ever since, i have been immensely blessed by the giftedness the Father has endowed him with. i then remembered, as in today, that he has a brother (you) who also is used by God to usher in HIs Presence. Unfortunately, the “Christian radio station” in the NYC area is awful – very worldly and hardly a mention of Jesus and they only place the same 20 Christian bands of the ‘celebrity kind’ and seem to stay away from those like yourself who worship God in both Spirit and in Truth. So i stopped listening to them. i resort to either listening to nothing or my CDs simply because my spirit is just so grieved by what has happened to CCM artists who seemed to have sold their birthright for a bowl of porridge. Not you or Phil though – there is something so precious – so authentic- so holy about your stewardship of not just the giftedness Father God has endowed you with, but your family. It is evident that the word of God has evangelized your heart and the Light of His counsel, has permeated your understanding and the love of the Father bathes your soul. i suppose it is my Italian background that explains my wordiness (mor words per thought capita), but i would be remiss if i did not take this opportunity to speak words of encouragement to you and your wife. Even in drought, God always took care of His own- indeed the righteous have never been forsaken, neither their children begging for bread. However difficult the season, it is temporary for He would have us continue climbing the mountain till we reach the summit’s peak. Know that He has placed a divine discontent in you so that you do not default to the comfortableness of the culture, which has infiltrated the Church. You and your wife are to sound the clarion to awaken “Sleeping Beauty” (the Church) and time is coming and is now, where your worship of Him will break the “sound barrier” because in brokenness, that is when the most profound revelation comes. He is bringing you to a new level and this is why discouragement would have you get your eyes off our Exceedingly Great Reward and onto the obstacles that loom large in the distance. But just like in a rear view mirror, those just “appear” bigger but in comparison to our God, they are microscopic. Trust God – lean not on your own understanding, but let go of everything in your hand; laying it all down at His feet as like Mary did with her albaster box, give it all to Him as an offering. The Lord our God is calling you higher, but you must go lower still; for He would have you swim the channels of His veins that feed into this oceanic chamber of unspeakable joy that can only be found when oneness with Him is fully realized. Evan, know that you have found favor with God and what you are called to has not yet been fully made known to you. Not that Tom Petty is a prophet, but as i type this, i am prompted to end with the hook to one of his songs… God is going to take you INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN …get ready!

    Evan,

Nice work. I am also a songwriter, and a worship leader in Pasadena, CA. I really like “Now Unto the One” and will be doing everything I can to get it out there. I also really like “Remember.” Any chance of you putting a leadsheet up on the site, or is it too personal?

    Best…DR
